How to set up a simulated call on iPhone.

Your caller. Your dialogue. Your cue.

GottaBounce simulates an incoming call inside your iPhone app. You choose a fictional caller, a ringtone and when the call appears. After you answer, it can play an imported voice clip or a script with timed gaps for your replies. Nobody is contacted, and your real caller ID is unchanged.

All features and unlimited simulated calls are free in the current release. There are no ads, subscriptions or account requirements. You need an iPhone with iOS 17 or later.

Create your first simulated incoming call

  1. Choose a caller. Start with one of the 12 presets, or create a custom caller with a name, number and photo. The number is only part of the simulation.
  2. Make it look and sound right. Choose a ringtone, a call appearance and buttons or slide-to-answer. Use a small caller avatar or a full-screen photo. Save the caller when you finish editing.
  3. Choose your timing. Use Call Now for an immediate call, or choose a delay or time. For a scheduled call, leave GottaBounce on its Waiting screen.
  4. Answer and play. Accept the incoming simulation to hear the caller’s selected clip or script. Use the earpiece by default, or select Speaker to play aloud. End the call when you finish.

Add your own voice clip or conversation

Import an existing audio file from Files in the caller editor. Use a clip you own or have permission to use. A Files provider may need to download the file before importing it. GottaBounce plays imported audio; it does not record your microphone.

For a longer conversation, open Script in the caller editor. Arrange imported spoken lines, add timed pauses for your replies, and add optional on-screen hints. Save your changes to use the script with that caller. The audio follows the sequence you create; it does not listen to your answers or generate live replies.

Practice a conversation with reply pauses

A script can give an acting rehearsal or practice conversation a repeatable rhythm. Write the other person’s lines, import those spoken lines, and leave enough time to answer each one. A short hint can remind you of your response without putting a whole paragraph on screen.

For example, a fictional colleague might ask, “Can you give me a quick update?” Leave a pause for your response, then play the next line. Repeat the call to practice your delivery. This is a suggested script you can create, not a claim that the example is included in the current download.

GottaBounce provides timing and playback. It does not transcribe, score or coach your speech. Compare its free access with other call simulators.

Use a simulated call in a sketch or filmed scene

Create a fictional character with a caller name, photo, ringtone and dialogue. Keep GottaBounce open on the prop iPhone and film it using another device. Use the timer to cue the incoming screen, then answer as part of the scene.

GottaBounce does not film or export video. Ringtones and editor previews can play aloud, so check your sound setup before a take. Use fictional identities and audio or images you have permission to use.

Questions before you start

Will it call or message the selected contact?

No. Contact selection supplies the caller details you choose for the simulation. GottaBounce never dials, sends a message, changes caller ID or contacts another person.

Can I use the call simulator offline?

Yes. Once the app and your chosen audio are on the iPhone, simulated calls and audio playback work offline. There is no account or live conversation service.

Why can’t I hear the answered-call audio?

Answered calls use the earpiece by default. Select Speaker for loudspeaker playback. When a private output is unavailable, Speaker-off playback stays silent. Ringtones and editor previews can play aloud. See audio and timer support for more help.

Does it need microphone or contact permission?

No device-permission request is required. Optional system Photos, Contacts and Files pickers provide only the items you select. Callers, photos, audio and scripts are stored locally; device backups follow your settings. Read the privacy policy.

Is it an emergency or safety service?

No. GottaBounce is entertainment and rehearsal software. Never use it to frighten, harass, defraud, impersonate or fabricate evidence.
